Kodiaks
on 3 Game Winning Streak!
"Congratulations
team, we are guaranteed not to have a losing season guys!".
That's what coach Andy had to say after the Kodiaks soundly
defeated the Dead Hawaiians 7 - 5 last Sunday night. The ever
optimistic Andy takes great joy in pointing this out to us
each and every season the Kodiaks finish with a winning record. "Oh,
and did you see I had an assist tonight too?". Yes Andy,
we all saw you get an assist. Yes, I will write about it on
the web site too.
The
Kodiaks only had nine regulars on the bench, forcing Andy to
call up Phil LaPietra, and Greg Zaremski to plug the holes
in the roster. Both players skated well and Phil tallied a
goal for the night.

Kodiaks
Can't Overwhelm Blades.
The
Kodiaks Blades game got off to a bad start when both teams
ended up calling time outs because neither goalie had left
the locker room yet. It didn't get any better when the blades
scored an empty net goal to start the game. That goal set the
tone for the game, the Kodiaks would never lead.

Kodiaks
Finish Season 7-5
The
Kodiaks finished the winter 2003 regular season on Sunday night
with a convincing 5-1 victory over the Stingers. The Kodiaks
came out ready to play, and Andy LaPietra quickly put the team
up 1 to nothing with a first period goal. That silenced the
captains critics both on the bench, and in the stands, as they
could no longer yell "Not tonight LaPietra" or "Skate
Harder!!!!".

Blades
3 - The Return of the Al Grasley
The
Kodiaks new their first round playoff game against the Blades
would be anything but easy. After Al Grasley defeated the Blades
6-0 in week three of the season, the Kodiaks dropped game two
1-3 after a rather flat performance. The parallels with the Stanley
Cup Playoffs on ESPN, became more and more apparent after Pat
Keenan forwarded a photo reminding everyone how the 7th seeded
Ducks had knocked off the 2nd seeded Detroit Red Wings. Would
the 7th seeded Blades knock off the "D" League powerhouse
Kodiaks? There could only be one team to go home a winner at the
end of this night.
