Strap Tragedy Takes The Title!

Strap Tragedy has won their league Championship in this, their first season at Lakeshore Ice Arena. Strap Tragedy reached the finals after a 5 - 4? semifinal win over the Stars. The game was a rough and tough affair with Strap Tragedy winning out by using their brains and playing good hockey.

Lets give a special "Shout Out" to Sully for scoring the game winning goal while playing with a broken skate. And of course we have to give credit to Evil Andy for his "Coaching" move to put Sully up on offense. And lets not forget Larry's bloody lip. No penalty called on the play, because as the refs put it: "He shouldn't of had his face so close to that guys stick.".

The Cup!While I didn't actually play in the Championship game, since I was out of town, I did get the low down via word of mouth from The Great Paddy O'Keenan.

The game started out quick, with Evil Andy scoring two goals in the opening period. Many would be quick to credit both Phil and Don Stauffer for setting Andy up with those goals, but Evil Andy was not one of them. "Hey, I'm the one who put them in the net, if it weren't for me, those would have just been bad passes.".

Andy scored 3 more goals in the second period. Again off feeds from Pat Keenan, Sully, and Phil. Always quick to point out his scoring prowess, Andy mentioned that this was his first hat trick, and the 5th game he had played in over the last 3 days.

3 more goals in the third period and the first shutout of the season for, you guessed it, Andy LaPietra.

Kodiaks Finish 2nd.

OuchThe Kodiaks finished their inaugural season at Lakeshore with a second place finish in the lower bracket.

It was a good finish to what has been a very tough and competitive season.

The 10 - 2 loss was a tough pill to swallow, but when you are playing a team clearly not made up of "D League" players, it is almost understandable.

The Kodiaks played with out Hungarian threat Imre Knausz, and without top defenseman Justin. Ted played a great game, and won team approval with his first period trip of #13 defense.

There were many scoring chances in the game, some even for our team! Next Season starts ????, call Andy for details.

Awesome Link...

Check out this cool Nike Commercial. If it doesn't make you want to play hockey, than the sport probably isn't for you.
